Stakeholders including traditional rulers, religious leaders and National Associationof Nigerian Students, NANS, and Osun Joint Campus Committee, yesterday waded into the protracted face-off between Osun State Government and workers over the implementation of the N18,000 minimum wage.
President League of Imams and Alfas in the South-West states including Edo and Delta states, Sheikh Mustapha Ajisafe, Sunday, held separate meetings with government and labour leaders in a bid to end the 15 day-logjam.
At the meeting where the two parties were advised to sheathe theirswords, was representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, led by Rev. A. Hassan
Yesterday’s meeting of the traditional rulers with the state government and labour leaders was at the instance of the Chairman, Osun State Council of Traditional rulers and Chiefs, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade.
The meeting which commenced at about 4.00p.m at the Bola Ige House, Osun State Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo was still on at the time of filing this report.
