2 die in Enugu auto accident

Enugu (NAN) No fewer than two persons died in an early morning accident on Thursday at the Onyeama area along the Enugu-Onitsha dual carriageway.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accident which occurred around 8.25 a.m involved two Mercedes Benz 911 lorries and a commercial Toyota mini-bus.
Three persons who were seriously injured were immediately rushed to the National Orthopeadic Hospital in Enugu by men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
NAN correspondents, who were at the scene of the accident during the evacuation of the victims, report that there was traffic gridlock on the road due to the accident.
Ejiofor Odo, a conductor of one of the lorries, with registration number AA325 HTE and which was heading to Enugu, told NAN that the accident occurred due to brake failure.
“The vehicle hit another Mercedes Benz 911 lorry, with registration number XC 210 OME, and this one in turn hit the on-coming mini-bus belonging to Kenis Unique Motors.
“The two vehicles then slipped into a slope,’’ he said.(NAN)
