Boko Haram: Jonathan assures diplomats

AGAINST the escalating threat posed by the religious sect, Boko Haram, President Goodluck Jonathan has assured diplomats and other foreigners in Nigeria that they were safe as relevant authorities were working hard to check the activities of terrorists in the country.
He said no effort would be spared to ensure that government succeeded in checking the menace of terrorism that had reared its head in the country.
The president made the remark during the farewell visit of the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, Mr Park Young-Kuk, at State House on Wednesday.
He noted that  terrorist activities were strange to Nigeria, and so posed immediate challenges to the country’s security agencies.
Jonathan expressed appreciation to South Korea for supporting Nigeria’s electoral process, among other areas of bilateral assistance and cooperation, and wished Mr Young-Kuk success in his future endeavours.
Speaking earlier, Young-Kuk gave his condolence on the UN Building bomb blast, and expressed appreciation for Nigeria’s contribution to the expanding bilateral trade between the two nations.
