CHRISTIAN Association of Nigeria, CAN, has called on the Federal Government to organise a national conference on security with a view to putting an end to the emerging terrorist culture in the country.
Briefing newsmen, yesterday, in Port Harcourt, Chairman of Rivers State chapter of CAN, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, said such a forum would afford Nigerians the opportunity to make meaningful contribution towards resolving the security challenges facing the country.
He said: “The meeting would be attended by those from academics, the multinational oil firms, faith based organisations among others. We should all sit down to fashion a way out of this problem, since security is a shared responsibility.”
He appealed to Boko Haram and their sponsors to employ dialogue in resolving whatever grievance they might have, charging them to have value for human life.
He added that all sections of the country should encourage the unity of Nigeria by their actions and utterances.
