PDP begins reconciliatory moves, prepares for convention

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) plans to embark on recon-ciliation to bring on board all aggrieved members in some states and ensure stability, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, the Acting National Chairman, said in Ilorin.
Baraje also said during a courtesy visit to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State that the party had begun preparations for its forthcoming ward congresses and national convention slated for February and March 2012 respectively.
He explained that the reconciliatory moves had become imperative in view of the various factions springing up in many states and threatening the stability of the party.
“My visit is to officially start the tour of the country in preparation for our party’s congress and convention fixed for February and March 2012, and to also observe the revalidation of party membership exercise and registration of new members.
“In the course of the nationwide tour, which started in Kwara today (Sunday), we shall make concerted efforts to reconcile all factions of the party in some states in order to consolidate the gains of the party.”
Baraje commended the governor for the smooth take-off of his administration and the successes recorded within a short time.
