FG declares Monday, Tuesday as public holiday


THE Federal Government has declared Monday, 26th and Tuesday, 27th December, 2011 as public holidays to celebrate the Christmas and Boxing Day.
Also, Monday, 2nd January, 2012 has been declared as public holiday to mark the New Year celebration.
Minister of Interior, Comrade Patrick Abba Moro, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government urged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray fervently for enduring peace, unity and progress of the country.
Comrade Moro in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Sheidu Ozigis, equally called on Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The statement said the minister wished “all Nigerians peaceful and hitch-free celebrations while praying that the New Year will usher in more opportunities for government to deliver on its Transformation Agenda.”
