Occupy Kano protesters yesterday, at the city centre..
Nigerian Police in concert with members of Vigillante Group early this morning, apply maximum force to disperse thousands of protesters occupying Kano city centre over  the removal of fuel subsidy by the Jonathan-led administration.
The incident occured around 1.30am , Thursday morning , as many of the protesters were fast asleep after a convenant was signed between the Muslims and Christians on right to worship.
Eyewitnesses told Vanguard that the police fired several cannister of teargas at the crowd of protesters before forcing them out of the centre violently.
The account had it that in the ensuing confusion, no fewer than 42 protesters sustained various degrees of injury, while six were arrested , though were released later on intervention by leaders of the protesting youths.
Vanguard learnt that the Coaster  bus belonging to the Bayero University Kano, BUK,  Students Union Government was vandalized in the unprovoked attack, while hundreds of motorcyles belonging to the occupiers of the square were seized by the police.
The action of the police has already triggered tension in the city of over 9million people as uneasy calm pervades the entire city.

Unconfirmed reports say that the police has promised to compensate the Students Union Government of Bayero University over damage to its bus but efforts to confirm this from leader of the Group, Comrade Muhammad Hamisu failed as he could not be reached on his cell phone.
However, the Police Public Relation officer in Kano, ASP Magaji Musa Majia failed to pick up his calls , as well respond to SMS.
