Taye Taiwo’s agent Fabio Parisi has
confirmed there are bids from French and English clubs for the left-back
who has failed to secure a first-team role with AC Milan since joining
the Italian giants last summer on a free transfer.
Parisi told Calciomercato.it that it was not certain the former Marseille defender would stay at Milan but no bid has yet been considered for the player.
Taiwo, who was reportedly linked to a swap
deal involving Genoa’s Merkel, has insisted he would stay at the San
Siro and fight for his place.
Parisi, who is also Merkel’s agent, said,
“It is not certain that he stays with Milan. We are assessing the
situation well. I can confirm bids from France and England.”
The agent also rejected rumours linking his
client with a move to Genoa, and insisted that the Marassi club have
not contacted him as yet. However, he remains open to a future move away
from the Rossoneri, as Taiwo wants to play regular football.
Parisi added that Taiwo was disappointed
with his performance at Milan and would work hard to earn a first-team
action and prove his worth at the club.
The agent said he could not understand the defender’s slump in form, insisting that he was a hot property in the summer.
