Black Sunday: President Jonathan declares three-days National Mourning

President Goodluck Jonathan has declared a three-day period of national mourning in honour of those who lost their lives in the Dana plane crash in Lagos today.
He also cancelled all his public engagements scheduled for tomorrow and directed that the Nigerian flag be flown at half-mast for the three days.
The President joined Nigerians in mourning all those who lost their lives in the Dana Air plane crash.
Meanwhile, the President has ordered full investigation into the crash. He also assured air travellers in the country that every possible effort will be made to ensure that the right lessons are learnt from the tragic loss of valuable lives in today’s plane crash and that further measures are put in place to boost aviation safety in the country.
He prayed that God Almighty would grant the families of the victims of the plane crash the courage and fortitude to bear their irreparable loss.
Also, the president condoled with families who lost loved ones in the bomb blast earlier Sunday morning at a church in Bauchi. He called it “regrettable,” and said he was saddened by it. He urged Nigerians not to be disheartened.
Jonathan assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces and security services will continue to implement proactive counter-terrorism measures and   intensify efforts to totally eradicate the scourge of mindless terrorism from the country.
