Pastor
William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible
Church, has urged the leadership of the country to be more proactive in
attending to the needs of the citizens.
Kumuyi made the call in a statement made available to journalists in Lagos on Sunday.
“We sincerely believe that good governance can go a long way in addressing many of the problems we are experiencing,” he said.
“Some families are mourning different misfortunes that befell them
about this time; God remains God in all circumstances. The Church
condoles with all such people for their losses.”
The statement urged Nigerians to pray fervently to God to provide solution to the country’s myriad of problems.
It said the Church chose the day to celebrate the mercies of God to its members.
The statement added that this was the first time the Church was
marking “Celebration Sunday” since it came into existence about three
decades ago.
‘We set aside today to praise God for what He has been doing for the
Church, because God commanded His children to show gratitude for things
they received,” Kumuyi said.
