A Lagos Court of Appeal has fixed October 18, 2012 for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) appeal against an earlier judgement in favour of Yoruba actor Baba Suwe.
The NDLEA is appealing against the judgment of a Lagos High Court
ordering it to pay N25m as damages to the actor for ‘illegally’
detaining him. The court, presided by Justice Yetunde Idowu on November
24, 2011, also ordered the agency to publicly apologise in two national
newspapers.
The court saga was one of the most followed stories in Nigeria’s entertainment industry in 2011.
