The
Special Adviser to the President on the Niger Delta, Kingsley Kuku, has
described President Goodluck Jonathan as a war-time President saddled
with security challenges imposed on him by the “tardiness of his
predecessors.”
Kuku said this at a media briefing, in Lagos on Saturday.
He expressed regret that a majority of
Nigerians were yet to fully appreciate the enormity of the challenges
inherited by the President and efforts he was making to address them.
Kuku said an overwhelming majority of
Nigerians grossly underrate what Jonathan had been going through since
he assumed office as the President.
He said, “It will not be an exaggeration
to assert that this President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a wartime
President who is saddled with security challenges that were planted,
watered and nurtured by the ineptitude and tardiness of successive past
leaderships in this country both at the federal and state levels.
