The
nation has recorded nine full and five partial system collapse in the
power sector between January and now, thus emphasising the fragile state
of the country’s electricity supply infrastructure.
The daily operational report from the
Osogbo National Control Centre of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria,
which was obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday, showed that, the
country recorded two system collapse in March; one in April; five in
May; and one so far in June.
The report also showed that in March and
April this year, the nation recorded two and three partial system
collapse respectively.
As at Tuesday, the nation was generating 3, 060.9 megawatts of electricity, according to the report.
