Oshiomhole thanks Edo citizens

Re-elected Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole has dedicated his victory in last Saturday’ election to the people of the state and promised not to disappoint them.
“My victory belongs to the people and I want to thank them sincerely for the trust they have reposed in me through the massive votes they gave me,” the governor stated while speaking at the Government’s house in Benin on Sunday.
He noted that the results of the elections showed that ethnic sentiments will not affect future elections in the state.
While commending the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) for the general conduct of the election, he faulted the deployment of some officials of the commission for the exercise.

Defending his initial reaction to the conduct of the election on Saturday during which he was quoted as saying that INEC has failed, the governor said there was no justification for the late arrival of voting materials in Benin, the state capital when some other parts of the state got theirs earlier.
He blamed the INEC National Electoral Commissioner in charge of the South South zone, Ishmael Igbani who was the Supervisor for Oredo Local Council for the delay, noting that the Commissioner has a reputation of conducting controversial elections that had been reversed in the past.
