Two officers of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline Brigade
were, on Tuesday, arrested by the police for alleged extortion.
The officers were arrested around 8:30 a.m. at the Ojota area of the
state, following an allegation by a petty trader that the KAI officers
extorted N200,000 from him over the weekend.
The KAI officers however, denied the allegation.
A source close to the agency revealed that the state governor,
Babatunde Fashola, recently expressed worry over the increasing number
of corrupt officers in the brigade, and subsequently set up a monitoring
team.
The source added that corrupt officers were being weeded from the agency each day, in order to reposition the brigade.
