Police arrest KAI officers for extortion

Two officers of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline Brigade were, on Tuesday, arrested by the police for alleged extortion.
The officers were arrested around 8:30 a.m. at the Ojota area of the state, following an allegation by a petty trader that the KAI officers extorted N200,000 from him over the weekend.
The KAI officers however, denied the allegation.
A source close to the agency revealed that the state governor, Babatunde Fashola, recently expressed worry over the increasing number of corrupt officers in the brigade, and subsequently set up a monitoring team.
The source added that corrupt officers were being weeded from the agency each day, in order to reposition the brigade.
