The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation will increase gas supply to power plants in the country in the next four weeks to boost electricity supply, the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has said.
The minister, who said this in Abuja
during a briefing, added that the emergency plan unveiled in the gas
sector few months ago had begun to yield results.
The emergency plan, which the minister
said would last for 12 months, is expected to address the shortage in
gas supply to the various thermal power plants in the country.
It is meant to increase gas supply to the grid in three tranches over the 12-month emergency period.
