Cynthia Agholor
Cynthia Agholor will tell anyone who cares to listen that she has been having a wonderful time in Nollywood even though she started acting as a child many years ago. What has not been kind to her, as Cynthia is certain to tell you, is the media who have continued to spread negative stories about her.
Beautiful, busty and brainy, Cythia is a simple woman who will rather have a glass of wine instead of going all the way even with the man of her dream, out of wedlock. In this chat with Showtime Celebrity, she opens up on variety of scandals trailing her career and why she prefers dating a white guy to a black man. ..Enjoy!!!
You once dated a White guy and there was an interview where you said you regretted dating a White guy…
(Cuts in) that was years ago. Did I ever say I regretted dating the guy? That was a long time ago and now that I am more mature I will say White guys are better. For one, they wouldn’t break your heart unnecessarily. If you want me to compare I will say White guys are better lovers because of their truthfulness.

Pope Francis says atheists who do good are redeemed, not just Catholics

Pope Francis I

Pope Francis rocked some religious and atheist minds today when he declared that everyone was redeemed through Jesus, including atheists.
During his homily at Wednesday Mass in Rome, Francis emphasized the importance of “doing good” as a principle that unites all humanity, and a “culture of encounter” to support peace.
Using scripture from the Gospel of Mark, Francis explained how upset Jesus’ disciples were that someone outside their group was doing good, according to a report from Vatican Radio.
“They complain,” the Pope said in his homily, because they say, “If he is not one of us, he cannot do good. If he is not of our party, he cannot do good.” And Jesus corrects them: “Do not hinder him, he says, let him do good.” The disciples, Pope Francis explains, “were a little intolerant,” closed off by the idea of possessing the truth, convinced that “those who do not have the truth, cannot do good.” “This was wrong . . . Jesus broadens the horizon.” Pope Francis said, “The root of this possibility of doing good – that we all have – is in creation”

Also elected as the deputy chairman of the forum was the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulazees Yari, who was unopposed.
His rival for the position, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, had voluntarily withdrawn from the race.

Nigerians pester me for sex movies – Afro candy

Afro-candy

US-based Nigerian actress, singer, writer and model, Afrocandy, real name Judith Opara-Mazagwu, talks about her obsession with sexually explicit movies and her latest work, Destructive Instinct, in an online interview with JULIET BUMAH
Any special reason you chose the name, AfroCandy?
I chose the name because guys call me ‘Eye Candy’. And I figured, if I’m an eye candy and I’m African, I should be an AfroCandy.
Did you do a boob job or are your breasts natural?
No, I did not do any boob job. My boobs are all mine, naturally made and given to me by my creator.
Why did you go into pornographic movies?
I’m not into pornography. I’ll say this over and over. The fact that I chose to make romance and sex scenes in my movies real should not make me a porn star. Now tell me, would you call the actors that play assassin and killer roles in movies murderers because they play such roles? Why are eyebrows being raised over this my movie? Or, is it because it has to do with sex, which is supposed to be a way of life? I find that to be sexist honestly. You can call me daring, brave, bold and beautiful. And I will like you to tell me what you call movies like ‘Basic Instinct, ‘I spit on your grave’ and the likes of them. And I’ll also like you to tell me what you may call actors like Sharon Stone, Halley Berry and co for taking similar roles in those movies before I can answer you directly.

The British Nigerian Woolwich killer - Michael Adebolajo

One of the Woolwich killers has been identified as a British Nigerian man named ‘Michael 'Muhajid' Adebolajo’, whose father has been identified as 56 year old Nigerian trained nurse named Anthony Adebolajo. This is the last thing we need now. A Daily Mail article suggests that there's now a high threat of terrorism from Nigeria. Read it below...
Sources today named one of the suspects as Michael Adebolajo (pictured above) who, along with his fellow alleged killer, is a British citizen who converted to a radical form of Islam. They are not thought to have links to terror groups based in Nigeria, such as the jihadist militant organisation Boko Haram. The Foreign Office warns of a high threat from terrorism in the West African nation and raises the prospect of a risk of retaliatory attacks following the French intervention in Mali.
The other killer may also be Nigerian though he has not been formally identified.

Blessing Liman, Nigeria's First Female Military Pilot

Click for Full Image Size
In June 2010, Shamsudeen Usman, then the Nigerian Minister for National Planning dropped a bombshell during a presentation: Northern Nigeria has the highest level of illiteracy on earth. Although I wouldn't know how the World Bank came about its figures which the minister quoted, I will be deceiving myself to say that all is well with education in the north.

That explains why it calls for celebration when a young lady from the same northern region becomes the first female combatant pilot not only in Nigeria, but in the entire West African subregion. I present to you the amazing story of Nigeria's winged eagle, BLESSING LIMAN.

Intelligent, witty and yeah, beautiful, Blessing Liman is the first female military pilot of the Nigerian Air Force. In other words, while some Banana Island girls will be shakaraing the entire neighborhood with their Infiniti FX 37, Blessing plays with jet fighters and bombers. Can you beat that? Try again.

Power projects: FG to access $500m AfDB loan

Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo
Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo
The Federal Government on Tuesday said it had activated a $500m African Development Bank loan to boost power infrastructure in the country.
It said the loan would serve as an intervention fund in the power sector and would be released in tranches of $100m.
Speaking during the inauguration of a technical monitoring committee set up to track projects executed by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, the Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, said the company would access the funds as it worked to bridge the enormous electricity transmission gap in the sector.
Nebo, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Power, Mr. Godknows Igali, said, “We have been challenged by the problem of not being able to evacuate power beyond 4,500 Megawatts.
“From what the TCN gave us, if we have appropriate funding, in the next one year, we will be able to double our transmission capacity. The technical committee is critical as it is required by AfDB to access the loan.”
TCN is one of the successor companies of the unbundled Power Holding Company of Nigeria charged with the responsibility of evacuating and transmitting generated electricity.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Manitoba Hydro Limited, managers of TCN, Mr. Don Priestman, in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, however, said the loan was insufficient.
He said, “We need all the money we can get and whatever we can get from that source is extremely welcomed. We need a lot more money than that, but that was an excellent start and we are going to put it to good use immediately.

Don’t overspend on military operations, Sanusi warns FG

Sanusi
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, has cautioned the Federal Government against excessive spending on military operations in three states in the North-East, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, where a state of emergency was declared last week.
Sanusi, while addressing journalists shortly after the end of a two-day Monetary Policy Committee meeting held at the CBN headquarters in Abuja, argued that excessive spending on military operations posed a major risk to the inflation outlook.
Headline inflation increased from 8.6 per cent in March to 9.1 per cent in April, remaining within the target single digit range for the fourth consecutive month in 2013.
The figure, according to the central bank boss, reflects a combination of base effect and the success of tight monetary policy, which have led to a muted growth in the monetary aggregates and exchange rate stability.
He said while the principal risks to the inflation outlook remained fiscal spending and possible pressures on the exchange rate from any attrition to reserves caused by declining revenues as a result of output leakages, there was the need for prudence in monetary policy action.
Sanusi said, “The committee noted with caution the high Gross Domestic Product growth projection in view of the extant risk factors such as widespread insecurity, weak infrastructure and probable flooding from the projected heavy rains in some parts of the country.
“The state of emergency in the North-East and the accompanying military operations in that axis have the potential to adversely affect economic activities generally, including agricultural production and food prices as well as consumer demand.
“In addition, the recent military action in the North-East will result in additional spending. Although the government has announced that there will be no supplementary budget, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance has already announced that there will be a drawdown on a contingency vote embedded in the 2013 budget to cover emergencies.
“Overall, the committee is of the view that government spending will constitute a major risk to the inflation and exchange rate outlook, thus advising prudence in monetary policy action at this time.”
The CBN governor also said the committee expressed concern over the low level of credit growth to the private sector and traced this to the crowding out effect of high growth in credit to the public sector.

Boko Haram: Female detainees, others to be freed

Boko Haram
The Nigerian government said Tuesday it would release many suspects held for “terrorist activities,” including all women in custody, in what it called a peace gesture to the Islamists it is battling in the north.
The announcement came as the authorities pressed ahead with a nearly week-old offensive against Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast, while the Red Cross said at least 2,400 people had fled violence in the region.
“Consequent upon the directives of the president … the Defence Headquarters will be releasing from detention a number of persons being held in connection with terrorist activities,” a defence statement said, adding it included “all women under custody.”
Boko Haram has previously demanded the release of women prisoners, though the defence statement made no mention of the demand.

I am not dating Deputy Speaker –Isabela

Isabella
Isabella
Winner of the 2012 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Isabela Ayuk, has said that she has no romantic relationship with the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.
She was, on Tuesday, quoted on Linda Ikeji Blog as saying that a rumour being peddled in this regard was false.
She says, “As an MBGN winner, there will always be stories about one thing or the other. It’s a normal thing. The story is hilarious and not true. People should learn to get their facts right. These people actually do not have names or faces. At first, it was the story of how I lied about my age; then came the dethronement story. Now this!
“Where were these people when I went of MBGN twice and finished top 10 and won best traditional costume award? And in 2012, with determination and persistence, I won and people who were obviously not happy about my victory cooked up stories. I can’t bother about what people say because some people are just on this earth to talk about others.”

TB Joshua, Pastor Chris Accused Of “Occultism”

accusations_of_being_antichrist_1
Ghanaian Bishop Isaac Owusu Bempah, Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, has labeled two of Nigeria’s celebrated pastors as partners in winning souls for the devil.
In the words of the controversial Owusu Bempah, the founding President of Believers’ LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as “Christ Embassy”, Dr Christian Oyakhilome (popularly known as “Pastor Chris”) and General Overseer of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Balogun (aka TB) Joshua, are not “true men of God”, but leaders of occults, winning souls for the devil.
This claim, according to Owusu-Bempah, is based on God’s revelation to him in a vision as well as his own analysis of the scripture, works and conduct of the two popular heads of two religious organisations in Africa.
Owusu-Bempah said he once heard Pastor Chris saying he saw nothing wrong with homosexuality and lesbianism, and wondered which true man of God would lead his flock with such beliefs.
“No doubt he [Pastor Chris] is a friend and partner of TB Joshua”, Owusu-Bempa noted last week, claiming both men are dubious men of God who have a pact with the devil.
For Owusu Bempah, Nigerians have allegedly realized the dubious character of the Nigerian televangelist faith healer and founding president of Christ Embassy and his partnership with TB Joshua and have consequently chased him out of the country to South Africa, where he presently resides.

Stop Defending Ombatse For Killing Policemen, SSS Operatives — Commissioner Tells Eggon People

nasarawa_Al-makura
Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Hamza Elayo has spoken out on the recent massacre of over 50 policemen and operatives of the State Security Service, SSS, by members of the Ombatse cult in Alakyio village saying the killing could not have been carried out using sticks and machetes as claimed by the Eggon people.
According to him, the assertion by the President-General of Eggon Cultural Development Association, Chris Mamman that members of Ombatse are peace loving and abhor violence is a lie as government had security information at its disposal which indicated that the group has attacked several communities.
He said, “From reports available to security agents, Ombatse group has attacked several communities. We have heard the voice-over of several members of Ombatse confessing to have killed these policemen. If these people have confessed, how can anyone absolve them of involvement in the incident?” he queried.
Mr. Elayo further defended government’s decision to send truck-loads of security personnel to go and arrest the leader of the Ombatse saying the activities of the group was a threat to peace in the state and required drastic action.

BULLETS DON’T KILL US —Spokesman of Ombatse (militants that killed about 100 policemen in Nasarawa)
People have been wondering why warriors of  Ombatse traditional religion were able to ambush and successfully kill  about a hundred policemen and State Security Service (SSS) operatives  answering a distress call on Wednesday, May 13, without even a single  member of Ombatse being killed. In an interview he granted Nigeria’s  oldest newspaper, Tribune, the National President, Eggon  Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Mr. Chris Mamman, seemed to give an insight when he claimed that Ombatse devotees are immune to  bullets. Ombatse is an Eggon group, so Mr. Mamman (shown in photo) is  well qualified to speak on the group. Below are excerpts of the  interview which centred on the killing of the security operatives at  Alakyo village in Lafia East Development Area of Nasarawa State,  North-Central Nigeria.
