Tambuwal Begs Obasanjo Over Farouk Lawan Bribery Scandal

The secret "negotiations" have started and the leadership of the House of Representatives, sources gathered from an insider, is pained at the turn of even in the bribery scandal hanging on the neck of one of its brightest, Hon. Farouk Lawwan.

Multiple sources have confirmed that the speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal has been in communication with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and seriously begging for a soft landing for Hon. Lawan for the sake of the House's credibility.

Tambuwal is said to be reaching out to the Senate President, David Mark, being a right hand man of Obasanjo, to help "talk to the former president."

When asked what stake the former president has in the matter, one of the source said he's the best man to influence President Goodluck Jonathan to call his people (Nigeria Police) to order and allow the "matter to be settled amicably".

However, while Tambuwal and his men are busy working behind the scene to "save the House such huge embarrassment", the Nigeria Police have threatened to declare Hon. Lawan WANTED if he fails to honour their invitation by Thursday.

"We have reached out to the leadership of the House of Representatives to prevail on Lawan to respect the Police. We will give him up till Thursday to come for interaction with the STF or we will apply the law. Do not forget that we can either declare him wanted or secure a bench warrant from a court for his arrest," a police source said.

Also, it was leant that Femi Otedola is insisting that Hon. Lawan should be ordered to bring the exact dollars he collected from him because the SSS marked the money.

School girl missed exam after she slept in April and woke up in JUNE.

THIS sleepy schoolgirl missed her GCSEs after nodding off in April and waking up last week.

Sleepy Stacey Comerford, 15, suffers from a rare neurological disorder which means she enters a sleeping state for months at a time.

The last – her longest at TWO months – meant she missed NINE exams after being predicted straight As.

Stacey, from Telford, Shropshire, is just one of 1,000 people worldwide to suffer from Kleine Levin Syndrome also known as Sleeping Beauty Syndrome.

Stacey, who hopes to return to school part time, revealed she was taunted over the condition.

She said: “I’ve missed nine exams and my birthday in November.

“It’s easier now people know what it is. It’s easier to explain to them. Before, people didn’t believe me. That was the hardest thing.

“People would pull faces at school if I said I was tired and needed to go home.”

During an episode she can sleep for 20 hours a day and only gets up in a trance-like state to sip water or use the loo.

Mum Bernie Richards slips in some food to keep her alive before she makes it back to bed. Stacey has lost nearly two stone because of the condition.

Mum-of-six Bernie, 53, said: “There’s never any warning. I’ve even found her fast asleep on the kitchen floor.

“When she’s in an episode, she might get up to go to the toilet or get a drink but she’s not awake. I call it sleep mode.

“When she wakes, she thinks it’s the following day. She doesn’t have any memory of it.”

Bernie compares her daughter to Jekyll and Hyde.

She said: “It’s like having two different kids in the house.

“When she’s in sleep mode she can be quite moody but she can’t help it. She’s like a toddler who wants to do things her own way. She stamps her foot if she doesn’t get what she wants.”

Stacey began experiencing symptoms around a year ago but was only diagnosed in March.

Doctors initially thought she was just being a typical moody teenager.

But Bernie said: “All she wanted to do was sleep.

“The GP said ‘I know it sounds awful but she looks like a moody, depressed teenager’.”

Fears then surfaced she might have a brain tumour but tests came back negative.

The diagnosis finally came when she was seen by a neurologist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

But Stacey still gets taunted about her condition.

Bernie said: “She’s had that much stick off people. They don’t understand.

“I was even investigated by the local education authority because Stacey’s school thought I was deliberately keeping her out of school. They’ve stopped now we’ve got a diagnosis.

“I always knew there was something wrong. I know my daughter.

“She’s gone from a fresh faced teenager, full of energy to sleeping all the time.

“She could go to sleep tonight and wake up next week.”

There is no known cure for the syndrome but some suffers grow out of it.

FCT Minister Bala Mohammed Seizes Turai’s Land For Dame Patience

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed and Former First Lady, Hajiya Turai Umaru Yar'Adua, are poised for a bitter struggle over the ownership of a plot of land in the Central Business District, the heart of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Controversy over the land started after the FCT revoked ownership, which had been granted to a non-governmental organisation (NGO) Women And Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYEF), sponsored by Hajiya Turai.

The land was then purportedly re-allocated to another organisation, African First Ladies Peace Centre, to which by the current first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, is believed to be a sponsor.

Although the minister is suspected to be fighting a proxy war for the first lady, LEADERSHIP could not confirm if she is aware of it.

Records of the transaction obtained by LEADERSHIP, showed that the choice plot of land, beside the ThisDay Dome, was allocated to WAYEF on February 19, 2010 only for another document dated August 11, 2008 to surface from the FCT administration, indicating that the same plot had earlier been allocated to the African First Ladies Peace Centre.

In response, WAYEF filed a suit at an Abuja High Court challenging the action of the FCT administration, which has turned a blind eye to the ongoing construction. In a ruling delivered by Justice Peter Affen on March 5, 2012, the court issued an injunction ordering the FCT to restrain all parties from any further activities at the site.

Two weeks after the injunction was issued, however, persons believed to be working for the African First Ladies Peace Centre have resumed work on the disputed land, forcing Turai's lawyers to file contempt proceedings against the FCT Minister.

Also joined in the suit are the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke; Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS); and the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

Moses, Utaka in my team –Keshi

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi says he has not dropped the duo of Victor Moses and John Utaka from the squad that will face Rwanda on Saturday in Calabar.
The Eagles will face the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda in the return leg fixture of the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar. The first leg fixture ended goalless in Kigali in February.
Keshi, on Wednesday, denied reports that the players had been dropped from the team.
Keshi said, “Victor Moses can score goals, Utaka can score goals. I do not understand where you guys got the story from; when I talk to the press it is in this kind of forum.
“I am not that coach who speaks in the newspapers all the time. I like to do my work on the field with my players and that is it. Whoever is inventing all sorts of things about Stephen Keshi is just misguiding Nigerians, which is very wrong.”

Lamido Sanusi wears chieftaincy robe to office
The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, on Wednesday caused a stir at the bank’s headquarters in Abuja when he appeared in his traditional chieftaincy attire.
Sanusi, was last Saturday installed as the Dan Majen of Kano by the Emir of Kano Ado Bayero.
The installation came barely a week after the bank lost eight of its top officials in the ill fated Dana plane that crashed on June 3.
Sources at the apex bank told our correspondent on Wednesday night that Sanusi had attended an event in Abuja in the regalia from where he came to the office.
It was gathered that he spent a short time in the office before leaving.
