IN February 2012, a gang of heavily armed robbers attacked the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
They carted away N700 million from a bureau de change operator. Each member, including the informant, a cart pusher at the airport, got N90million, an amount that could have turned their lives around. But barely one year after that operation, Felix Sunday, a.k.a. K-Money, a native of Delta State became broke and went back to robbery.
The 32 year old man, who is currently cooling off at the Specail Anti-Robbery Sqaud, SARS, Ikeja, narrated to Vanguard how he robbed with the notorious Southwest robbery czar, Abiodun Ogunjobi, a.k.a. Godogodo and how he lavished his N90million share of the loot. Excerpts.
My name is Felix Sunday. I am a resident of Lagos State and  I was a commercial bus driver. I joined my first robbery gang in 2009 and  was the gang’s driver. Members of my gang then were old men and all of them are dead now.

Boko Haram Kills Army Lieutenant In Maiduguri

Nigeria’s anti-terrorist Joint Task Force (JTF) operating in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State and a stronghold of the militant Boko Haram sect, yesterday lost another officer in an encounter with members of the extremist Islamist group.
Two sources who demanded anonymity disclosed the development to SaharaReporters. One source revealed that the army officer, Lieutenant Haggai Bitrus, died when the Islamist group launched a surprise attack on JTF operatives. The late lieutenant was described as an indigene of Plateau State.
“There are so many things happening now that Nigerians are not being told,” said the source, himself a military officer. “We have lost yet another officer in the person of Lieutenant Haggai Bitrus to these Boko Haram elements. His parents have been informed. The situation is bad. Just last week we lost some soldiers too.”

CNN anchor Isha Sesay made her own news Sunday night, marrying fellow CNN staffer Leif Coorlim in Atlanta.
The couple tied the knot in front of close friends and family at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the ceremony moved indoors from the English garden after CNN meteorologist Jen Delgado predicted bad weather.
“Our day exceeded my wildest dreams,” Sesay tells PEOPLE. “It was magical. When I saw Leif standing at the end of the aisle, I felt as if my heart would explode. I married the man of my dreams in front of the people we care about the most. And then we partied the night away.”
The bride wore a strapless, custom Amsale gown featuring elaborate beadwork.
“Amsale herself was with me as I tried on different dresses at her Madison Avenue showroom in New York,” Sesay says. “She was wonderful. After trying on a number of gowns, Amsale, my stylist Stacey Brice Washington and I agreed that this was the dress for me!”

ASUU insists on strike as FG releases N130bn

The Federal Government has agreed to inject about N130bn into the university system to shore up infrastructure and support the settlement of lecturers’ earned allowance.
This came as the striking lecturers insisted that the industrial action would continue.
Representatives of the government and the striking university teachers met on Monday in Abuja where issues on the strike topped the agenda of the meeting.
Although the Federal Government agreed to release the funds, the Academic Staff Union of Universities insisted that the offer did not meet the union’s  funding requirement.
The leader of the government negotiation team and Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, made this known to journalists on Monday after a meeting with the ASUU leadership in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

God will uproot bad leaders in Nigeria, says Gowon

Ibadan – Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, on Monday in Ibadan prayed that God should uproot all the leaders with evil intentions against the country so that the polity could move forward.
Gowon spoke during his visit to Gethsemane Prayer Ministries Cathedral, Eleyele, Ibadan presided over by National Coordinator, Nigeria Prays, Rev. Moses Aransiola.
“I want God to uproot bad leaders from Nigeria as a way of moving the country forward from the present situation,” he said.
The ex-military ruler had been involved in ministration work praying fervently for peace and progress of Nigeria.


He also faulted the prediction that the country would break up by 2015, saying that similar prediction by France had already failed.

She was reacting to media reports that she snubbed Ikuru, when she arrived at the Port Harcourt airport on Sunday.
The President’s wife said she decided to make her visit to the state as quiet as possible so as not to give room for those who she described as mischief makers to succeed in their plans of involving her in the political intrigues in the state.
