FG Replies Protesting Ex-Militants

The Federal Government, on Tuesday, described the demonstration of someNiger Delta ex-militants in Yenagoa, who obstructed traffic for more than five hours onthe East-West Road as unwarranted, insisting that the Presidential Amnesty programme had no third phase.
Reacting to protests by some ex-militants, numbering over 7,000, to kick against their non-inclusion in the ongoing amnesty programme, the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Deltaand the Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Mr KingsleyKuku, said the amnesty office had not received directives from President Goodluck Jonathan to admit new entrants into the programme.(Nigerian Tribune)
