Kumuyi stated this in Abuja yesterday during a special prayer held for the board and staff members of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the nation in general. Speaking during a courtesy call to the commission’s chairman, Mr. Sam Saba, the general superintendent urged leaders in all levels of responsibility to put in their best at all times so as to be judged fairly by posterity.
He said: “Lord, we don’t want war in this nation. We need peace and love all across the land. Let there be peace in this nation.”
The foremost preacher, who was accompanied by his wife, Esther Blaiz, and other key officials of the church, remarked that his visit to the CCB boss was to encourage the commission to continue to discharge its duties without fear or intimidation. He noted, however, that there was the need for everyone, no matter the level of leadership, to strive to make a difference in whatever they do.
He also said: “There are things that go on record before God and before men. It is people who make the difference in office. Making a mark in office is a personal decision. So, you have to strive to make a mark where ever you are.
“See your work as sacred. The work you’re doing is like a calling. Put in your best. See yourselves as being in it for service and not for money. That way, God will meet all your needs and offer you all the protection you need, because your job is very sensitive.”
Receiving Pastor Kumuyi and his entourage, the CCB boss expressed delight that the spiritual leader found time to visit the commission despite his busy schedule. He stressed that were it not for the spiritual support and prayers of leaders like him, the nation would have been in worse scenario of disturbances.
He described Pastor Kumuyi’s visit as a morale booster to the entire staff and board of the CCB and pledged to continue to seek an end to corruption among public office holders.
