Ivory Coast defender Emmanuel Eboue
has confidently teased the Super Eagles of Nigeria saying that the
Nigerian team shouldn’t celebrate their advancement to the
quarterfinals as their journey in 2013 African Nations Cup will be short
lived.
Eboue went on micro-blogging site
Twitter to tell his 145k followers that the Elephants of Ivory Coast
would eat their Nigerian counterparts like ‘fufu’. He then jokingly
apologized, further stressing that they will actually be eaten like ‘Super fried chicken‘ when they meet the Ivorian teamin the next round of the tournament.
‘Congrat to Nigeria . Don’t
celebrate too much cuz we are coming for you. We are going to eat you
like fufu. Sorry guys, point of correction. We are going to eat Nigeria
like #SuperFriedChickens‘, @TheRealEboue tweeted.
Nigeria advanced to the quarterfinals of
the tournament last night by beating Ethiopia two goals to nil. Ivory
Coast have won their last two games with a game in hand to be played
today against Algeria.
