The new Miss World has just been crowned in Bali, Indonesia and it is Miss Philippines, 23 Year Old Megan Young, an actress, TV presenter and aspiring filmmaker. Miss France and Miss Ghana were second and third runners up. Many people were rooting for another African Miss World especially Miss South Sudan who was among the top 10 contestants. PS - Miss World contestants usually compete in the swimsuit, fitness, world fashion, and talent segments as well as the "Beauty with a Purpose" segment meant to honor charitable work. But many, Muslims in particular, are totally opposed to the idea of beauty pageants including Miss World. When the event was slated to be held in Nigeria, it had to be moved because of religious riots in the north.
