Chairman National Salaries Income and Wages Commission (NSIWC), Richard Egbule, told the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), as well as employers’ association on the readiness of the Federal Government to implement the N18,000 National Minimum Wage on Monday.
The Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu, actually ensured that the circular that contained the structure for the payment and implementation of the new minimum wage was released to the labour leaders at the crucial meeting called at the instance of the minister.

Irrespective of whatever excuses the government is giving, I think this new minimum wage should have been formalised by now, if not for the planned industrial action, I'm sure government will still be stylishly 'buying time' before full implementation. Anyway, congratulations to the Nigerian workers...the state governments should follow this good example and stop bringing up excuses. Have a nice day everyone...ubochi oma ooooo
