Boko Haram: FG turns to UN for help

The Federal Government has entered into partnerships with the United Nations Counter Terrorism office and the Global Counter Terrorism Forum to deal with the Boko Haram menace.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, said this while addressing foreign diplomats accredited to Nigeria, in Abuja on Wednesday.
She noted that government had been and would continue to take measures consistent with its determination to ensure the security of lives and property of all residents in Nigeria.
Onwuliri added, “Government has also initiated counter-terrorism efforts in the past couple of months, especially since the establishment of a counter Terrorism Office in the Office of the National Security Adviser.
“To give focus and practical expression to these efforts, our country has entered into sustainable global partnerships such as with the United Nations Counter Terrorism Office, the Global Counter Terrorism Forum, and other multilateral, bilateral and regional levels cooperation.”
