It Is Better For APC To Contest Against Jonathan – Masari

Masari

Following the recent high court ruling upholding the eligibility of President Jonathan to contest election in 2015, former Speaker, House of Representatives, Aminu Bello Masari, has said that it is better for APC to contest against President Goodluck Jonathan than anyone else
The former speak who spoke with Leadership pointed out that it will be easier for APC to contest against President Jonathan than any other candidate as President Jonathan has no achievement to show in his six years in office.

According to him “for us in the opposition, it is easier to deal with Jonathan than to deal with somebody whom you don’t know. What is he going to show, it is four years in the office, two years inherited from the late President and two years of his own, what has he done with the four years, what have we seen that has improved the quality of lives of Nigerians? Nothing.
So in election, it is better to contest against Goodluck than somebody who in we don’t know and who may have one or two things to say, but I don’t think Goodluck Jonathan has anything to say about his achievements in office to warrant reelection. Not that he won the election in 2011 but the highest court of the land said he has won so we can live with it.” He further stated that the ongoing party merger will work out for the opposition party as each of the political parties involved in the merger is coming with its strength and weaknesses.
“Everyone coming to the merger is bringing his strengths and his weaknesses. You see CPC may have only one state, CPC may have fewer members in the legislature both at the state and at the national level than ACN, but nobody has a presidential candidate like Buhari.”
