Boko Haram: Be vigilant, Odutemu tells Christians

BISHOP of the Ughelli Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt Revd Cyril Odutemu, has enjoined Christians across the country to be more vigilant to avoid being taken unaware by the Boko Haram Islamic sect.
Odutemu who spoke during a three day prayer convention of the diocese tagged: “Divine Agenda 2012,” said: “In times like these, we have to be closer to God and put all our trust in Him for He only is  our deliverer.
“While you pray, you must be vigilant and at alert. The police, army and other security agents may be of little or no help in this moment of trouble. We have to return to our God in repentance for him to heal our land and bring restoration to the people.”
Lamenting the killings of innocent citizens and destruction of property by the suspected Islamic sect, he said the three-day ultimatum issued to Christians to vacate the Northern part of the country by the Islamic sect was most unfortunate.
He charged Christians to put their trust in God, “and not on man or any security agent in this trying time in Nigeria.”
