Labour suspends street protests, rallies


The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC has suspended street protests and rallies just as it asks Nigerians to sit at home in continuation of its strike action.
In a statement by NLC Acting Secretary General, Owei Lamkemfa, said the suspension of street protests is imperative due to escalating violence and increased in security challenges.
His words: “In view of escalating violence, in order to eliminate casualties, and due to the increased in security challenges, Congress has directed that rallies and street protests be stopped across the states and the FCT.”
