The location of the houses of Vice-President Namadi Sambo and other prominent residents of Angwan Rimi GRA, Kaduna may have forced the authorities to divert the N6bn Fourth Kaduna Bridge under construction.
Following the development, some residents of Kaduna expressed the fear that the completion of the bridge and its road network projects scheduled for the end of this month might be delayed.
The homes of Sambo, former Military Governor of Lagos State, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Marwa (retd); and former Military Administrator of Kaduna State and social critic, Col. Abubakar Umar (retd) on Gobarau Road have allegedly affected the original path of the bridge and its main link roads.
Also directly obstructing the original path of the bridge are the Kaduna Zonal office of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Kaduna office of the Leadership. The bridge is being constructed over River Kaduna to ease the daily gridlock in the area.
