Corps Marshal,Mr. Osita Chidoka, as announcing this in Makurdi, when he
visited Governor Gabriel Suswam.
The statement said men and equipment
would be deployed in some designated road corridors nationwide between
March 28 and April 2, to remove obstructions, control traffic, undertake
massive enlightenment and enforce traffic rules.
The statement quoted the FRSC boss as
having listed Yangoji, Lokoja, Lagos, Benin, Ore, Jos, Potiskum, Bauchi,
Lafia, Makurdi, 9th mile, Enugu and Kano highways as some of the
designated corridors.
“This is to ensure the presence of FRSC
operatives along all corridors of the nation’s highways for effective
traffic management and prompt response to road crashes.
“The exercise has become necessary to
reduce the spate of road traffic crashes usually associated with rise in
violation of traffic rules and regulations, especially during festive
seasons,” Chidoka said.
