In a statement made available to our correspondent in Abuja, Director General of the agency, Mr. Chris Onyemenam, said already the agency has opened enrolment centres in all the 36 State capitals and the Federal Capital Territory.
The enrolment centres in the state capitals are pilot enrolment centres preparatory to the mass registration expected to take off in the second quarter of the year.
He said, “We are encouraged with the public response to the enrolment exercise so far and we are looking forward to enrolling over 100 million Nigerians once the enrolment exercise commences in full scale by next quarter.
“Consistent with the mandate of the commission, enrolment centres have been opened in all state capitals in the country, while efforts are ongoing in extending enrolment centres to all local government headquarters before the end of the next quarter.”
