Abubakar said finding the killers was the only way the family of the late Asadu and the police could be comforted.
The IG stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the Asadu family in Amorji-Nike, Enugu State.
He said, “CP Asadu was an officer and a gentleman. We have worked together. He did his best in rendering service to this country. It is a hard one for us; something we can’t comprehend up till now.
“As I said before, the killers have murdered sleep, they will never sleep. By the grace of God, we shall find those killers so that the family and the police will be comforted. On behalf of the Nigerian police, accept our condolences.”
The police boss and his entourage were received by Mr. Ogechukwu Atama, Asadu’s family friend and confidant of the deceased cop.
In the condolence register, the IG wrote, “May the soul of CP Asadu Rest in Peace.”
Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt., Caleb Olubolade(retd.), who was among the team members wrote, “May God condole the family of our officer, CP Asadu. Adieu.”
Meanwhile, Abubakar said the police were retooling to counter the activities of criminals in Enugu State and the entire country.
He said this shortly after Olubalde), inaugurated the maiden Police Intelligence School built at the Police College in Enugu on Monday.
