Nigeria turns to SA for auto-tracking development

The Vehicle Security Association of South Africa has been invited to provide the necessary framework for the standardisation and further development of the Nigerian vehicle tracking industry.
Our correspondent gathered that a few licensed auto tracking solution providers in Nigeria, under the aegis of Vehicle Security Operators of Nigeria had contacted the South African body for support aimed at standardising the Nigerian market.
The vehicle tracking solution industry is regulated by the Nigerian Communications Commission and 13 companies have so far been licensed by the NCC to carry out such service in the country.
The licensed companies are Datatrak Nigeria Limited, Ameritech Global Concept Limited, Gpstech Solutions (West Africa) Limited, Cotek Integrated Technologies Limited, Cellstop Trackers Limited, Upland Consulting Nigeria Limited, Tracktag Limited, and Adata C-Track Limited.
Others are Catrac Limited, Matrixvtrack Nigeria Limited, Tycil Telecoms Limited, Trackers Security Systems Limited and Proserv Nigeria Limited.
