Boko Haram, Tool To Blackmail Jonathan – Asari Dokubo

The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVC), Alhaji Asari Dokubo, has said that the activities Boko Haram sect are being promoted to blackmail President Goodluck Jonathan.
Asari, who spoke exclusively to LEADERSHIP yesterday, also warned that those anticipating the impeachment of President Jonathan were ‘playing with fire’.
He also warned that the North should not bother throwing up a candidate to contest against Jonathan in 2015, stressing that Jonathan will serve a second term in office.
He further called on Jonathan to revoke all oil blocs allocated to people that are not from oil bearing communities.

Fuming yesterday, Asari said, “For me, Boko Haram is the dumbest product the North can offer to the world for sale. It is so dumb. They are only making the country ungovernable because Jonathan wants to give them capital, to notice them.
“They had tacit support in the North initially when they started. When you go and attack innocent persons in their place of worship, that is cowardice. The prophet (SAW) did not attack innocent people in the church or synagogue, or idol worshippers. The terms of battle all the world that SAW fought was on self defence.
“To me Boko Haram is the dumbest product the North has produced and it is not in their interest as it will destroy the North.”
On the consequences of the activities of the sect leading to war, Asari said, “We will cut them off. It is a simple thing; everybody should know it. If there is a war they will be restricted, we will cut them off from the coast. The oil is not an issue. We are Ijaw people we make sure that the Republic of Benin, Togo and other places where goods will come to them are cut off. They will starve; that is the truth of the matter.”
Meanwhile, following the Asari-Dokubo’s comments on the northern region, the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) yesterday told President Jonathan and other prominent Nigerians to call Asari-Dokubo to order before he sets the country on fire.
The youths said it was important to call him to order in the interest of peace and national development, declaring that “the north is not afraid of war.”
The youths in a statement by its national leader, Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, also stated that “northerners are not war mongers and will never call for war within the polity of Nigeria.”
“Let it be known that the youths of the North under the umbrella of the AYF are peace loving people who believe in the peaceful co-existence of Nigeria,” he said.
