Suspected Gunmen in Kogi killings arrested-Police


The Kogi State police commamd yesterday paraded a woman and two men suspected to be gunmen responsible for  the killings of worshippers at a Deeper Life Bible Church in Okene some days ago. Not less than 19 people reportedly died in the killings
While addressing newsmen at the parade, the Kogi state commissioner of Police Muhammed Kastina said that the police got a break through due to high wired intelligence. They later traced the suspect to their hide outs in Idare Hills,Okene but on sighting police the gunmen opened fire at them. In the process, the police had a superior hand and the gang leader,one Yekini Isah was terribly wounded on the head but he escaped.
The police commissioner said the gang leader was later traced to Ibilo, Edo State, where he went to take native treatment for bullet wounds.The police said in the process two other suspects including a woman were arrested. They also recovered one AK47  assault rifle and 30 rounds of live ammunition and uniforms that they gunmen used while on mission.
Kastina thanked the Edo state police command for assisting in the arrest of the suspected criminals.
