Moscow forward, Sekou Oliseh, who made a cameo appearance during the
second half of the crunch UEFA Champions League home game against Real
Madrid on Tuesday, has praised Pontus Wernbloom, admitting that the
Swedish star has given them a huge lift to play the return leg at the
Bernabeu.
Debutant Wernbloom scored a
last-gasp goal at the Luzhniki stadium after 90 minutes of gruelling
action to tie the match 1-1 and ensure that Madrid did not collect all
points for the first time in the competition.
Oliseh said, “Wernbloom is a
fantastic player. He entered the pitch confidently and fought for the
entire 90 minutes. He literally fought for every ball.
“It was nice to see the
support we received from the stands. So, we all tried to minimise the
deficit and got our reward late in the game.
“It depends on the head
coach whether he will play me or not. All I can assure is a neat
performance. I will do everything in my power to score in the upcoming
return leg against Real.”
