Falcons get N.6m for AYC ticket

The Super Falcons got a reward of N600,000 on Saturday for qualifying for the Africa Women’s Championship to be hosted in Equatorial Guinea later in the year.
The Falcons defeated the Mighty Warriors of Zimbabwe 4-0 a fortnight ago in Lagos to qualify for the tournament on a 6-0 aggregate.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, gave the Falcons N500,000 while national coordinator of women’s teams, Aisha Falode, also presented the with N100,000.
“I am presenting this to you on behalf of the NFF on your qualification for the AWC finals and to encourage the entire team to do better in subsequent matches,” Maigari said.
The team played a goalless draw with the visiting Banyana Banyana of South Africa in a friendly match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Saturday as coach Kadiri Ikhana aims to improve them ahead of the tournament.
