PLEASING GOD - DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DailyDevotional

“……..If I yet please men, I should not be the servant of Christ “ Galatians 1: 10

People around us expect so much from us.  They expect that we should behave, talk and think in a particular way that they approve.  They expect us to attend the meetings and partake in the activities which they organize.  They expect us to drink some of the things they provide.  They expect us to dress the way other people dress. They expect us to watch the movies that catch their attention. They expect us to go to the places which they approve of. However, one of the most important reasons for frustration and stagnation in life is attempting to please everybody.  Anyone that attempts to please everybody will lose his identity, live in a confused state and displease God. Though we owe it a duty to do the best for the good of others, yet we should do it to please God.  We must remember that most people will want to take the best out of us as long as we are seen to be useful to them, but would put us aside when they are done with us.  However, God will always be with us as long as we please Him in everything. We please God by daily obedience to His word in everything, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.
Challenge: If we keep listening to “what people will say”, we will never arrive at where God wants us to be.
Prayer:  Lord, help me to please you all the time.
