RANGERS
star Sone Aluko has warned Celtic that being dropped has made him even
more fired up to return and smash their hopes of clinching the title at
Ibrox.
Manager Ally McCoist defended his decision to drop
Aluko at Tannadice although the decision did raise a few eyebrows
amongst the Ibrox faithful who have seen the playmaker as their main
leading light in recent weeks.
Aluko, who netted as a second half substitute against
Dundee United, is now hoping he has done enough to start this weekend’s
Old Firm clash – which could see Celtic crowned champions if Motherwell
slip up against Kilmarnock and they were to beat their city rivals on
their own patch
“You always have to be ready for anything in football because you know your place is never guaranteed,” Aluko explained.
“The manager picks the team and I don’t question what
he does. He gets paid to make his choices. When you come off the bench
you want to put yourself in selection contention. I am like everybody
else, I want to play in every minute of every game if I can. Hopefully I
will get back in the team. I obviously came on and scored against
Dundee United but I would have much rather the team would have won.”
