In a suit filed on his behalf by Chief Mike Ozekhome, Melaye asked the court to order Idris to forfeit his private residence, 99 Kwame Nkrumah Street, off Thomas Sankara Street, Asokoro, Abuja, which he allegedly acquired recently.
Other property Melaye wants the former governor to forfeit are the Gubabi Royal Hotel, Abuja Dreamland Suites, Abuja Summerest Hotel and Palmac Hotel, Abuja.
Others are the Executive Suite, Grand Ibro Hotel, formerly known as Ibro Hotel, which was allegedly reconstructed and remodeled with over N1bn, Etal Hotel (formerly Excelsior Hotel), and Etal Hotels and Halls (formerly Excelsior) in Abuja and Lagos.
Melaye also asked for an order directing Idris to forfeit and return to the Kogi State Government all salaries, allowances, emoluments, travel claims, estacode and perquisites of office he illegally, unlawfully and unconstitutionally collected from the coffers of the state between May 29, 2011 and January 27, 2012, during which period he illegally occupied the office of the governor of the state.
He also prayed for an order compelling Idris to forthwith declare all the assets he acquired while he was governor of the state.
