Sylva has not dumped PDP – Aides

Bayelsa State Government, yesterday, described as untrue claims that Governor Timipre Sylva has dumped  Peoples Democratic Party for African Renaissance Party, ARP, to actualise his 2012 governorship ambition.
Governor Sylva, it would be recalled was disqualified by the leadership of PDP from contesting the November 19 primaries, at which Seriake Dickson emerged as the party flag bearer.
But the governor is currently challenging his exclusion at the court.
Dismissing the story making the round that Governor Sylva had picked the expression of interest form for the 2012 gubernatorial poll under the platform of ARP,  Commissioner for Information, Strategy and Orientation, Chief Nathan Egba, said there was no iota of truth in the rumour.
According to him, it was part of the orchestrated plot to distract the governor from his focused goal, which is being pursued in the law court.
He insisted that the governor remained a committed member of the PDP and believed in the judiciary.
Egba said the governor was confident of contesting and eventually emerging victorious at the forthcoming governorship polls in the state, adding that “those floating the rumour are detractors, who are afraid of the governor’s credentials.”
Also dismissing the report, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ola Doifie, said it was the handiwork of the opponents of his boss.
He said: “There is no truth in the rumour. It is being speculated by  opponents of the governor. If it were true, we would have informed the press but this is blatant lie and should be disregarded.”
