Happy Democracy Day, Nigerians!

"In a land where leaders are viewed with high level of integrity and honesty; duty and responsibility of the office held is seen and believed to be an act of respect to the people and the nation.”

Nigerians were said to be the happiest people in the world after a study was carried out some years ago. Observers have always watched in utmost amazement how we have survived as a nation under obvious prevailing treats to our unity. Incidences over the years attest to this. Nations across the world with less volatile issues and problems have been submerged into serious crisis resulting to ultimate war.
It is widely acclaimed that we as a people strive on a great hope for a better tomorrow. This attitude has been passed down from generation to generation and we live with an expectation that one-day change will come.
How will this change come? What does it look like? Who will champion the call for change we do not know?
In every way, God has blessed us. He has done us well- we cannot complain. But, for many years, we suffered a great deal in the hands of our fellow citizens, whom we entrusted with our leadership or those who highjacked it. These are men, whose antecedent has no connection or connotation with wealth, who were only opportune at one point or the other to serve as public officers. They now boast of affluence that their salaries cannot justify. They live in the confidence that they are above the law. Men who were suppose to serve us, looked at us with total disdain. Our pains and troubles have been bottled up for too long. It is now obvious that the cover of this bottle is losing its hold. The prevailing incidences around our nation show the eruption of change… it looks like change is coming to Nigeria.
What we do not know is whether the change will be positive or negative? A lot of things have happened in the last one year, insecurity here and there, subsidy issues and its resultant effects on the people, high rate of unemployment, insignificant improvement in the power sector e.t.c. The truth is, the kind of change we are expecting is yet to 'materialize', we do hope things will change for the better very soon.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIANS!!!
