Oritsejafor dismisses FG, Boko Haram ceasefire deal

Pastor-Ayo-Oritsejafor
The Christian Association of Nigeria President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, on Wednesday dismissed the ceasefire deal between the Federal Government and the Boko Haram leadership.
Oritsejafor, who spoke on the sidelines of the ninth National Assembly of CAN,  noted that Boko Haram leadership could not be taken seriously because the group had been factionalised.
The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Secruity Challenges in the North, Mr. Kabiru Turaki (SAN), had on Monday announced the ceasefire deal.
However, responding to reporters’ questions on Wednesday, the CAN President said, “Which Boko Haram? There have been all manner of people that claim to be Boko Haram. Now there are two groups, the Shekau group and Ansaru group, have you heard from them?
“Even if one person says, I want peace, I drop my weapons, we will be happy, but I still ask: which Boko Haram because we have seen situations in the past where they told us that some people wanted truce and the next day we saw people being killed.”
Oritsejafor, who urged religious fundamentalists to be cautions, also promised to use the fresh mandate given to him by the Christian union to pursue peace in the country.
