PDP commences revalidation, registration of party members

(NAN) The PDP has commenced revalidation and registration of old and new party members in Delta.
Mr Owo-Iwo Okpokpo, the team leader for the 10-man committee from the national headquarters of the party, said in Asaba on Tuesday that the exercise was in line with the tradition of the party.
Okpokpo, who spoke when the team paid a courtesy visit on Delta Deputy Gov. Amos Utuama, added that the exercise was usually done before ward, local government, state, zonal and national congresses.

He said the national executive committee had at its meeting on July 28 approved membership registration for new members and revalidation for existing members prior to 2012 party congresses and the national convention.
He said the team was in the state to visit the wards, meet with ward executives and monitor the revalidation and registration exercise in line with the party’s directive.
Utuama said the visit was not to deregister any party member, but to register more members, especially those who were defecting  from other parties.
He gave the assurance that the team would help to provide logistics for the state with its 25 local governments. (NAN
