THE Super Eagles chief coach, Samson
Siasia, will today know his fate when the Executive Board of the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF) meet in Abuja.
Top on the agenda of the country's highest soccer ruling body's meeting is Siasia's continued stay as the handler of the Eagles.
It was gathered that, the fate of the Super Falcons chief coach, Eucharia Uche, would also be known in today's meeting which is expected to be explosive as the Glass House seems divided on the issue of sacking the two coaches.
The case of the Falcons coach is expected not to cause any ripples as she does not have an existing contract with the football federation following the expiration of the extra one month contract extension given to her to take the women's national team to Cameroon for the final African Olympic Games qualifiers which the country failed to qualify for.
Already, the NFF has told those who cared to listen that, they are not twilling to renew Eucharia's expired contract which invariably translates Ito the fact that, her job has been terminated.
The main issue on the shelve that I would cause so much uproar is that of (Samson Siasia, who the Sports Minister, Yusuf Suleiman, declared lean not and should not be sacked by the NFF.
But the football federation chiefs I have a different opinion which point Ito the fact that the coach failed woefully to fulfill the terms of his (contract to take Nigeria to the semi-Ifinals of the 2012 African Nations |Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Siasia himself disclosed that, one of the terms of his contract states that, he would be sacked in case he does not qualify for the biggest soccer fiesta in the continent.
The Technical Committee of the NFF last week met in Abuja where they recommended that the Eagles coach should either be sacked for failing to meet terms of contract or if he is going to be retained depending on the final decision of the Executive Committee, should be placed under a Technical Adviser who will be his boss.
The Technical Committee Chairman, Chris Green, has said that the outcome of today's meeting would be to the best interest of the country's football, while the NFF president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, also declared that he was not under any pressure to take a decision on the Eagles chief coach.
A cross-section of the NFF Executive Committee believes strongly that, the best bet would be to sack the coach, because the Nigerian people who clamoured for his employment, are the same people calling for his sack now.
As it is, no one can predict the decision of the NFF bigwigs until after the meeting.
The Eagles coach has been running helter skelter to retain his job and his strong connection to President Goodluck Jonathan as it were may be fully exploited to continue his job.
But statutorily, the NFF reserves the powers to sack Siasia who they employed 11 months ago without the inputs of Mr President.
