Rangers end Uchebo romance

Uchedo
Scottish giants, Rangers, have ended their interest in Nigeria’s U-20 striker Michael Uchebo who had been on trial with the club for the past week.
The VVV Venlo striker trained with the Ibrox side on Thursday as the club said they intended to have him on a permanent deal. But in a dramatic twist on Friday, the club suddenly pulled out of the ongoing negotiations, telling the former Stoke City trialist to look elsewhere.
Rangers manager, Ally McCoist told the club’s website that he was still monitoring some other trialists as he aims to strengthen his squad ahead of the title run-in as he confirmed Uchebo had immediately stopped training with the team at Auchenhowie.
He said no deal had been struck between the clubs despite reports to the contrary, “He came in and trained but he’s left again and that was a club decision.
“He came in and trained yesterday (Thursday) but we thought it was in the best interests of us and him that he pursued other options.
“To my knowledge, there has been absolutely no contact between the clubs, never mind a few agreed.”
