Keshi picks 20 for Liberia friendly

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi
Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has settled for a 20-man team from the 30 players in camp in Abuja for the Wednesday international friendly match against the Lone Star of Liberia in Monrovia. The former Eagles captain released the names shortly after the Monday morning training session at the Abuja National Stadium.
The final list was not much of a surprise as all those tipped to make the team passed the test. The list includes goalkeepers Chigozie Agbim and Okemute Odah, defenders Azubuike Egwueke, Papa Idris and Juwon Oshaniwa. The others are Gabriel Reuben and Bartholomew Ibenegbu (midfielders) and Kalu Uche and Izu Azuka who are both strikers.
The team made up entirely of players from the Nigerian league flew out of Abuja to Lagos on Monday afternoon, and spent the night at Ajao Estate in Lagos before, expectedly, connecting an Air Nigeria flight to Monrovia on Tuesday morning.
The Eagles will have an opportunity to feel the turf of the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on Tuesday evening before Wednesday’s clash with the Lone Star.
The match on Wednesday is billed to help prepare the national team for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Rwanda in Kigali on February 29. The team to Kigali will be a blend of this team and the Europe-based professionals. Keshi is scheduled to name the players for the Rwandan game immediately on return from Monrovia.
