SUPER Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo
Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, ruled Joseph Yobo out of the second leg of the 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Saturday in Calabar as the visitors hit the venue on Thursday.
The Amavubi arrived at the Margret Ekpo International Airport and proceeded to the Channel View Hotel where accommodation had already been reserved for them. But attempts by Journalists to speak with the team’s coach Milutin Sredojovic were repeatedly blocked by Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, the Nigeria Football Federation’s director of technical.
Sredojovic explained to journalists that he needed clearance from the NFF officials led by Ikpeme. Officials of the Rwandan FA, who accompanied the team had also assured journalists that the team were disposed to talk to the media but Ikpeme rudely said that it was not possible without clearance from him.
Apart from physically blocking journalists from carrying out their duties, he made uncomplimentary remarks.
