Obadare for burial in Ilesha on August – Committee

Prophet-Obadare

The committee set up to package a befitting burial for the late founder of the World Soul Winning Evangelical Ministry of the Christ Apostolic Church, Prophet Timothy Obadare, confirmed on Friday that the renowned evangelist would be buried in Ilesha, Osun State in the second week of August.
The Chairman, Media Sub-Committee of the burial ceremony, Pastor Michael Awe, who stated this in a telephone interview with our correspondent, noted that no specific date had been chosen.
He said, “Yes! Baba will be buried in the second week of August in Ilesha town, Osun State. We have not agreed on a specific date but rest assured it will be one of the days within the second week of August.
“We chose August because of the traditional August break syndrome. We do not want to pick a date in another month that will be disrupted by downpour.
“We will bury Baba in Ilesha because he had said it before he died that he would love to be buried in his home town.

“Although it was the wish of the people of Ondo State that Baba be buried in Akure because he started and ended his ministry there, we cannot go against the humble wish of the revered man of God.
“For instance, it was the special wish of Governor Olusegun Mimiko that Baba should be buried in Ondo State because the late Prophet Obadare was one the spiritual fathers of the governor.”
Awe said the committee had contacted the Ondo State government and had been able to convey the wishes of the late prophet to the officials.
He, however, said the state government would play an active role in the burial, both in Akure and in Osun State.
He said the committee was already fashioning out modalities for the burial in Ilesha with the Osun State government.
The late founder of WOSEM, a formidable evangelical ministry of the CAC worldwide, died penultimate Thursday in Akure at the age of 85 after a protracted illness.
